Mysterious Smoky Peak Advisors Raises Questions About Hatley Campaign

David Hatley, an Independent candidate for governor, has paid over $1.3 million in campaign funds to Smoky Peak Advisors, a supposed firm with a seemingly limited public footprint.

Questions remain about who runs Smoky Peak Advisors. The address listed on campaign finance disclosures corresponds to a strip mall, with no apparent office space for a firm at that location. 

A brief Google search yields no company website. However, smokypeakadvisors.com directs visitors to a site raising questions about Hatley’s involvement with the firm. An October 16th, 2026 substack from The 3AM raises further questions about the consulting group and its operations.

With over $1.3 million in campaign funds flowing to a firm whose operations and leadership remain unclear, questions about transparency and accountability warrant further scrutiny.
