A signed affidavit from a police officer states that independent gubernatorial candidate David Hatley threatened to kill a woman if she spoke about a scam he ran in the 1990s. Fearing for her life, she went into hiding.

In the affidavit, the police officer wrote, “Mr. Hall stated that his daughter was in hiding because Hatley had threatened to kill Amanda if she told about the scam.”
