Fire Fighters and Police Throw Their Support Behind Marsha Blackburn

Last week, both the Tennessee Fraternal Order of Police and the Tennessee Professional Fire Fighters Association officially endorsed Marsha Blackburn for governor of Tennessee.
In their endorsement letter, the Tennessee Fraternal Order of Police stated, “This endorsement reflects Senator Blackburn’s longstanding support for law enforcement, and her demonstrated commitment to the men and women who serve our communities. Throughout her career, and during this endorsement process, she has consistently engaged with the Tennessee Fraternal Order of Police in a meaningful and productive manner and has expressed her commitment to maintaining that relationship with our organization as Governor. We look forward to continuing that relationship as we work together to strengthen public safety and support Tennessee’s law enforcement officers.”
In response to the Tennessee FOP’s endorsement, Blackburn thanked the organization for their trust and said, “As governor, I’ll always back the blue and continue to support the men and women in law enforcement with the resources, respect, and support they need to make the Volunteer State the safest state in the nation.”

The Tennessee Professional Fire Fighters Association (TPFFA) cited a “proven record of supporting the fire service, emergency responders, and the safety of Tennessee communities” as the reason for their endorsement.
The TPFFA further explained their support for Blackburn based on her strong support for public safety, work advocating for improved mental health and expanded coverage of work-related cancer care, fiscal responsibility, and focus on putting Tennessee first.
They also noted the difference between Blackburn and candidate John Rose in support for firefighters during their tenures of public service. The International Association of Fire Fighters gave Blackburn a score of 100% for the 119th Congress, while Rose received a score of 0% for the same period.
The TPFFA stated, “We need leaders who work for us, not the status quo. Marsha Blackburn has stood with Tennessee and our first responders. We can count on her to keep fighting for us.”
These endorsements add on to an ever-growing list of endorsements for Blackburn, including the NRA, Honor our Veterans, the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Association.
Early voting for the 2026 gubernatorial primary is underway through August 1st and election day is August 6th.
