Natisha Brooks Drops Run for Congress and Quickly Launches Mayoral Campaign
Tennessee Today
Earlier this month, Natisha Brooks dropped her bid for Tennessee’s 6th congressional district and quickly announced her campaign for mayor of Nashville. She will now be attempting to unseat incumbent mayor Freddie O’Connell.
Beyond a rapid pivot, Brooks was also quick to endorse Van Hilleary’s bid for Congress.

On the endorsement, Brooks said, “After much prayer and thoughtful consideration, I have concluded that the best path forward is to unite behind Van Hilleary. He has a proven record of conservative leadership, a lifetime of public service, and the experience to help President Trump deliver on the America First agenda.”
One Facebook user brought up some questions about the timing of Brooks’ drop-out/endorsement.

It is unclear what the basis of these claims are.
Early voting started today and lasts through August 1st. The primary election is on August 6th.
