Former U.S. Congressman Phil Roe, who represented Tennessee’s 1st Congressional District from 2009 to 2021, endorsed Marsha Blackburn in the Tennessee gubernatorial race earlier this week. This endorsement marks yet another notable Tennessean throwing their support behind Blackburn.

Roe’s endorsement was announced via X, where he praised Blackburn’s long-standing conservative record and leadership, remarking that in the decade they served together in Congress that he saw firsthand how much she can accomplish.

He explained, “She stood steadfast against a state income tax, and our state is so much better for it. I know what she will do when the pressure is on her. She’ll uphold her conservative values.”

Blackburn welcomed the endorsement, calling Roe “a strong conservative leader” who has dedicated his life to public service.

“I am honored to receive his support and am ready to work to make Tennessee the best state for families and for our veterans,” Blackburn said.

Other recent notable endorsements for the Blackburn campaign include: Congressman Matt Van Epps, State Senator John Stevens, State Representative Greg Martin, State Representative Gino Bulso, State Senator Shane Reeves, Haywood County Sheriff Billy Garrett Jr., Sunbright Mayor Karen Melton, Oliver Springs Mayor Jason Stiltner, and Roane County Executive Wade Creswell.
