The Shelby County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association officially endorsed U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn for the 2026 gubernatorial race in Tennessee.

In a statement, SCDSA President Mark Lowe said, “Today, the Shelby County Sheriffs’ Association is proud to officially endorse and support Marsha Blackburn for Governor of Tennessee. Senator Blackburn has demonstrated strong leadership, a true commitment to public safety, and unwavering support for law enforcement officers and the citizens of Shelby County.”

This endorsement comes after Sen. Blackburn’s involvement in creating the Memphis Safe Task Force, which has been an overwhelming success. This task force has empowered law enforcement agencies to work together to curb the crime crisis. In December, the task force announced more than 4,000 arrests had been made since the launch and a significant decline in crime since implemented.

“The Shelby County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association is made up of some of the bravest and most dedicated men and women in Tennessee. Every day, they put their lives on the line for our communities and have played a critical role in making Shelby County and Memphis safer once again,” Sen. Blackburn said in response to the endorsement. “These are the heroes on the front lines, working tirelessly to restore law and order, clean up our streets, and put public safety first. I’m deeply grateful for their support as I seek to make Tennessee America’s conservative leader.”

Other leaders in Shelby County have endorsed her run for Governor. In March, the Shelby County Suburban Mayors Council also endorsed Marsha Blackburn’s campaign, including Germantown Mayor Mike Palazzolo, Lakeland Mayor Josh Roman, Collierville Mayor Maureen Fraser, Bartlett Mayor David Parsons, Arlington Mayor Mike Wissman, and Millington Mayor Larry Dagen.

Last week, Blackburn also received an endorsement from the Tennessee Professional Fire Fighters Association.
