Bridgestone Americas, Inc. Expands Community Investment Across Middle Tennessee
Tennessee Today

NASHVILLE, TN — As Middle Tennessee continues to grow, one of its longest-standing corporate anchors is putting real dollars behind the communities growing alongside it.

Bridgestone Americas announced it will distribute more than $1.13 million in grants through its trust fund in the first half of 2026, with more than half of that funding directed to nonprofit organizations across Middle Tennessee. The move reflects a continued commitment from the Nashville-based company to invest not just in business operations, but in the people and organizations shaping the region’s future.

Bridgestone’s connection to Tennessee runs deep. Its predecessor, Firestone, first established operations in La Vergne in 1971, and the company has called Nashville home since relocating its headquarters there in 1992. While the company closed its truck and bus plant in La Vergne last year, it has maintained a significant presence in the state, including its corporate headquarters and ongoing production operations in Morrison. That long-standing footprint has translated into a consistent focus on local investment, particularly as the region faces both growth and increasing demand for community resources.

This latest round of funding honors their partnership with Middle Tennessee. Two of the largest grants, each totaling $100,000, will go to the Civic Design Center and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, with the latter supporting its Grow for Good capital campaign aimed at expanding food access across the region. Beyond those headline investments, the company is supporting a wide range of organizations working on the ground in Middle Tennessee, including Conexión Américas, CreatiVets, Japan-America Society of Tennessee, Nashville International Center for Empowerment, Tennessee Justice for Our Neighbors, The Store, United Way of Greater Nashville, and Urban Green Lab, among others.

While much of the focus remains local, Bridgestone’s giving also extends beyond Tennessee. The company is supporting national efforts with grants to Truckers Against Trafficking and TechForce Foundation, reinforcing its broader commitment to workforce development and public safety initiatives across the country.

Altogether, the funding paints a picture of a company that sees its role in Tennessee as more than just economic. With decades of history in this state, Bridgestone’s latest investment reflects an understanding that strong communities and strong businesses tend to grow side by side.
