Ron Hart: Trump drops bunker busters and F-bombs
Main Street Nashville Opinion

The only response Democrats were able to muster during the clandestine taking out of Iranian nuclear bomb plants was that the raids were not run by them with an intelligence briefing and then debated on the House floor in advance. Bulletin: no surprise attack gets open debate. This power is clearly vested in the President in Article 2 of the US Constitution.
AOC, Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders and Jasmine Crocket should be angry, but not at Trump. These “leading” Dems have not had any intelligence their whole lives. If the plan had been run through Congress or the Bush Administration, we would have invaded Turkey. Had the nation known about the raid, a Biden-appointed district judge in San Francisco would have ordered the B2 bombers to return.
To make the case after the fact that this strike should not have been done is hard. Even Dems are trying to glom onto the bombings, saying Obama or Hillary would have done the same thing. But there is a distinction: Hillary would have done it, but she would have made it look like an accident. And Joe Biden taking on Iran and the Ayatollah? If Biden had been told to kill the Supreme Leader, he would have taken out Diana Ross.
There will always be collateral damage during war. Rumors abounded that Ayatollah Khamenei would be killed by our military. Ayatollahs are angry old white guys in glasses and big, unkempt grey beards who used to be relevant and who hate Trump. Just to be on the safe side, David Letterman had best lie low for
another week.
Not all Republicans were on board with Trump’s raid. But going after Rep. Thomas Massie, Sen. Rand Paul, and Tucker Carlson for expressing skepticism about attacking a country with regime change in mind on the basis of CIA intel, is not healthy. Vietnam (Gulf of Tonkin supposed attack), Iraq, Afghanistan (WMD’s/Yellowcake), and CIA/Intel community monkeying around in Ukraine ten years ago, begat worthless wars.
CIA and our Deep State interventions/diplomacy have been disasters. Laurel and Hardy looked better coordinated pushing that piano up the staircase. If the CIA gets this decision right, its record will surge to 1 and 10. The fact that the Mossad is involved, and that Trump neither trusts nor is a pawn of the Deep State, gives me hope that his intel is accurate.
Tucker Carlson tore Sen. Ted Cruze up in an interview. Cruze did not know basic information on Iran, and he is a US Senator arguing for regime change. Most Americans know little of Iran and most of the senior class at Beverly Hills High School probably thinks Iran is the Apple treadmill app.
We need to have dissenting GOP voices in the marketplace of ideas. The Republicans cannot become like the Dems: lemmings that are all told to say the same thing and attack anyone who has independent thought on a matter. It’s the Democrat playbook.
It has been a busy few months for Democrats, taking down their Ukrainian flags, then Palestinian flags, then Gay Pride flag, then the Mexican flag, Juneteenth flag and now trying to find an Iranian flag to display. They’ve become a flag-based party. If they continue to have to work this hard, they will become Republicans.
And why are we still closing buildings for Juneteenth? Didn’t we already agree to Kwanza? Those “holidays” are not popular. They rank as our worst holiday behind Arbor Day and a Toyota-thon weekend.
This brush up is not over. Under Biden, about 1500 Iranians came to our country, and about half of them were released inside our borders. We have to watch for “sleeper cells,” so if you smell something, say something. These sleeper cells might have added to the ones we have had here for years in Congress, U.S.
Representatives Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.
Aside from stopping the threat of Iran nuking us, Trump sent a message to China and Russia of our devastating military capabilities and resolve. Nations took note, and Greenlanders came out with their hands up. Ukraine’s Zelenskyy went back to Kiev and changed into his suit for the NATO meeting with Trump.
Trump’s asymmetrical form of strong peacekeeping works. The pitty-pat type diplomacy of the UN and Obama’s Iran deal were worthless. Since the United Nations was founded, 478 wars have happened. We would have had better luck with IHOP policing things.
In his unconventional way, Trump has tamed Iran and North Korea, and seems to be calming the Russian-Ukraine war. John Kerry negotiated the Iran nuclear deal which got Iran to almost full enrichment. If we have learned anything about diplomacy, it is that John Kerry is no Dennis Rodman.
